ConferMED Offering Free COVID-19 eConsults To All Safety Net Primary Care Providers Nationwide
Telehealth Access to Infectious Disease Specialists Offers Expert Support to Providers Treating Underserved Patient Communities
ConferMED, a leading eConsult company with a virtual consultation process purpose-built by primary care providers, is offering a new web-based version of its platform to provide safety net clinicians free eConsults with infection disease specialists for COVID-19 related questions.
Following a limited release of the platform two weeks ago and a positive response from participating health centers, and due to growing demand, ConferMED has opened web access to all safety net practices nationwide. With growing anxiety about this pandemic, front line medical providers caring for underserved populations need accurate, expert information to help them treat their patients based on the latest guidance and recommendations.
“We see a large and growing need for primary care providers on the front lines who are treating some of the most medically vulnerable and underserved patients get quick access to expert opinions and answers to their questions,” said ConferMED director Daren Anderson, M.D. “Our mission has always been to improve access to quality specialty care for all patients, particularly the underserved. Opening up our platform to provide immediate access to support will continue to make it a valuable resource for community health center providers in the midst of this pandemic.”
Safety net practice providers who wish to submit a clinical question for a specific patient eConsult are encouraged to do so at: https://www.confermed.com/coronavirus/. Partial support for this critical intervention has been provided by Safety Net Connect.
